How to clean a carbon framed bike?
My new bike got pretty dirty over the weekend, and I want to make sure I don't clean it with the wrong stuff. I have grease on part of the frame (chain came off when I fell taking a corner too hard while clipped in) and also have general mud/road grime on it that I'd like to remove. What is safe to use, and what products should I avoid?
For mud and road grime, a wet paper towel works well on my carbon bike, followed by dry ones to remove the moisture. The advantage is that you control where the moisture goes. A gentle soap will remove petroleum based grease. Follow that with the wet paper towel to rinse and then dry.
